How to Convert JPG and PNG Images to PDF

ConvertFern combines JPG images into a PDF or creates a separate PDF for each JPG. PNG input is not supported by this tool yet. For PNG to PDF, use your device’s direct export or print-to-PDF feature rather than first turning the PNG into a lossy JPEG.

Convert JPG images to PDF here

  1. Open JPG to PDF and choose your .jpg or .jpeg images.
  2. Choose Combine into one PDF or Separate PDF per image.
  3. Use the queue’s up and down arrows to arrange pages.
  4. Select A4, US Letter or Match image dimensions. The tool fits images without cropping.
  5. Choose Convert files and download the PDF or ZIP. Open the finished document and check page order and readability.

PNG to PDF on Windows

  1. Open the PNG in an application that offers Print.
  2. Open Print and select Microsoft Print to PDF if it is available on your Windows installation.
  3. Check paper size, orientation and the preview. Choose a fit setting that does not crop the image.
  4. Print and choose a filename to save the PDF. If the PDF printer is absent, enable or repair that Windows feature, or use another application with direct PDF export.

JPG or PNG to PDF on iPhone and Mac

iPhone with Preview: open the image in Preview, use the actions menu beside the filename, select Export and choose PDF. Save the copy. On an older iPhone without Preview, the browser tool is an alternative for JPG files; it does not accept PNG files.

Mac: open the image in Preview, choose File → Export, and select PDF. For multiple pages, review the document carefully after combining or printing images; a single-image export creates a single-image document.

HEIC → JPG → PDF

  1. Convert the original using HEIC to JPG and download the JPG.
  2. Open JPG to PDF and choose that downloaded JPG.
  3. Set the page options, convert and inspect the PDF.

Understand the quality trade-off

The HEIC route uses a lossy JPG intermediate. The PDF tool embeds the original JPEG image data and uses its orientation metadata to arrange the page. It does not add a second JPEG compression step. For archival work, retain originals and prefer a direct PDF export from your original image when available. A PDF is a document container, not a promise of higher image quality.

Troubleshooting

PNG rejected: that is expected for the current JPG tool. Use the device methods above; do not rename it .jpg.

Pages in the wrong order: reorder the queue before converting.

Text is not selectable: these are image pages. ConvertFern does not perform OCR.

Margins or orientation look wrong: try Match image dimensions or a different paper size and inspect the result before submitting it.

Frequently asked questions

Not in this version. Direct PNG support is feasible but has not been implemented or verified.

Can I make a PDF on iPhone without uploading my JPG?

Yes, the JPG-to-PDF tool processes the selected image locally in the browser. The converter itself has no account system.
